You should know exactly what you are asking for before you hand over a watch. This page sets out what each Ploen service includes, how long it takes, and what it costs.

How Every Service Begins
Each watch that comes in for any service type follows the same initial path: it is received, logged, and examined before any work is agreed. The examination is brief but deliberate — it tells us what service is actually needed, rather than what was assumed at the counter.
If the assessment reveals that a different service tier is more appropriate, or that the watch has a condition that would affect the scope or cost, we contact you before proceeding. Nothing is done on assumption.
This front-loaded communication protects the watch, saves time for both sides, and means the service agreed is the service carried out.
Watch is logged on arrival. A reference is created.
Movement and case examined. Findings noted and shared with you.
Service scope confirmed. Any additional work or cost requires your agreement.
Watch collected. Documentation provided for Full Service and Restoration.
Service 01
Battery & Care Service

Attentive care for quartz watches, including a fresh battery, contact cleaning, seal review, and a light case clean. Where rated, water resistance is confirmed and gentle advice given on any gasket that should be renewed. A simple, useful service for everyday pieces; usually a few days.

Service 02
Full Service

A complete service for mechanical watches losing steady timekeeping. We clean and re-oil the movement, inspect the balance and mainspring, replace worn parts where needed, and regulate the timing across positions. Seals are renewed and the crown checked. Suited to daily watches; about three weeks.

Service 03
Heirloom Restoration

A careful restoration for family heirlooms and treasured older watches. We overhaul the movement, conserve the case and dial in keeping with their age, and make every decision together with you. Original parts are retained wherever possible, and the work is documented. Six to eight weeks.

Technical Standards Applied Across All Services
Secure Handling
Each watch is logged and stored with its own reference. No components are shared between jobs.
Measurement-Based Results
Timing is measured on equipment. Water resistance is tested with pressure apparatus. Results are checked, not estimated.
Agreement Before Action
Nothing beyond the agreed scope is carried out without contacting you first. This applies to parts, additional work, and any change to the service plan.
Climate-Aware Service
Thailand's humid, warm climate affects seals, lubricants, and battery contacts differently than temperate environments. We account for this in service advice and seal selection.
Magnified Inspection
Movement components are examined under appropriate magnification. Small wear or damage that would not be visible to the naked eye is identified at this stage.
Data Protection
Client records are held for service reference only and are not shared with third parties. Your personal information and watch details remain private.
